The Duke Beta

Greek Advisory Council Report

Posted Thu, 07/15/2010 - 13:38 by drew

500 men went through 2010 Rush and 260+ bids were offered.
Sig Phi will open its colony for 2011 Rush.
70 % of the seniors now live off campus.

There is a move afoot from Duke Student Government to solicit money to help needy students pay fraternity/sorority dues, called the Greek Financial Initiative. Somehow this does not seem appropriate to TDB. The Council took no action and the matter is not up to them in any event.
Gerald Wilson, long time Gamma Rho friend, told the Council that in his "51 years in the Allen Building (sic: Duke talk for the Administration) the current Duke Administration is the most favorable toward fraternities". Regrettably, Beta is no longer on campus to share in this era of good feeling.
